Travelodge by Wyndham Nanaimo

Breakfast was basic- but filled our bellies. There was some missed garbage in our ice bin but didn’t notice til we were getting ready to leave. Beds were so comfy. It was very quiet. However the staff were so amazing ! Both front desk and house keeping made time to have chats with us as we were coming and going. They were quick to answer any questions we had and share their own experiences about the topics we talked about. It was very nice having staff make our interactions so personable and welcoming. What I enjoyed the most as well was the house keeping staff had amazing customer service. Between noticing the automatic door not working or seeing me and my baby about to go get breakfast - they were on the ball on getting attention to the door and empty coffee. This was the first time I’ve stayed here and I will definitely be back !

The accommodation is really close to the port and can be easily found. The room was clean and standard furnished. The advantage of our room was the small balcony with a view. We chose the accommodation mainly because of the free breakfast, but it didn't impress us that much.

Travelodge is close to everywhere and there are bus stops just at the lodge fence: at a walking distance to the beach and downtown, and for 2.50$ the bus takes you to any shopping mall as far as 40 minutes ride. The room was exceptionally clean with a very nice design where the bedroom is separate from the living-room: a big relaxing bed! I liked the breakfast coffee and fruits! The staff work with a smile on the face among themselves and with the clients. Travelodge Nanaimo is a place to go back to for a vacation, or for work as there is a computer desk and chair in the room, AND A FRIDGE!

Staff were very friendly. Excellent customer service. The manager called me and said that I forgot my phone charger at my room and made arrangement that if I ever come come back to the island I can pick it up it anytime. They also accommodate my request for the 3 rooms to be Beside each other and it was on the first floor since we have somebody with a wheelchair.

We liked the continental breakfast but would have liked the boiled eggs and waffles we had at other Wyndham accommodations. It was convenient to take back to our room as we had our dog and I could stay in my pajamas. One lady, I can't remember her name, was amazing, she was very friendly and took an interest to be helpful to all the guests' needs in and out of the breakfast room. The room we had was in a good location, we could park right outside the little patio to keep an eye on our car, very convenient to unpack and pack the car, plus very close to the breakfast room for those who, like me, want to get their brekkie in their pjs. We rated the Wi-Fi as N/A as we didn't use it but it was available for free with a password.
